In
the wee hours of the morning the Cadian Crusade
along with several other noble guilds joined
forces in the purging of the Orcish stronghold
of the Crossroads. The crusaders assembled in
Astranar before valliantly charging straight
into the heart of Horde territory.
The
initial press into the Crossroads was met with
little resistance, many Horde fell before the
holy blade of the Crusade and their companions.
The horde stood little chance again these brave
warriors of faith.
As
inticipated by High Inquisitor Cydel, the Horde
was able to mount an impressive counter attack.
Her suspecions were confirmed, a traitor and
heretic was relaying information to the Horde.
This advantage did not las the Horde very long.
It
did not take long before the Crusade quelled
the insignificant counter-stroke of the Horde.
Once crushed, the assault on the Crossroads
continued.
In
a stunning display of either shocking creativity
or dumb luck, a band of marauding Horde troops
happened to assault the flank of the Crusade
forces. This momentarily halted the siege of
the Crossroads as focus had to shift to this
emerging threat. However like all Horde forces
once its moral was broken, their retreat began.
The
carnage was incredible. Countless heretics fell
beneath the swift blade of the mighty Crusade.
How the Horde will ever recover is beyond the
imagination. Horrified by their losses, the
Horde soon sounded the retreat and fled to the
saftey of their guards.
Unafraid
of the deadly guards of the Crossroads, the
Crusaders pressed on valliantly and once more
made a daring assault into the city towards
the cowering Horde.
With
the Horde soundly defeated and pressed far back
into the depths of the Crossroads, High Inquisitor
Cydel as well as the other Inquisitors felt
the Crusade had accomplished its goals. The
number of slain Horde was uncountable as rotting
bodies and bare skeletons littered the Crossroads.
