Rest State - Changes on the Horizon

04/24/04 Posted by: Codex

Katricia has announced in a post on the boards that some changes will be coming in the near future to rest states. Some of these changes include:

  • Rest will accumulate over time.
  • You can gain rest while logged off at any location.
  • Rest will accumulate quicker while your character is in an Inn
  • Players logged off for "long periods of time" will receive a greater rest bonus.
  • Judging from this it would seem Blizzard has been watching the boards carefully and taking note of the Beta Testers concerns. While these are some siginifcant changes, it is probably only the beginning. Stay tuned!

    Server Downtime

    04/23/04 Posted by: Mouse

Last night at around 3:30 AM EST the Nouga1 server that hosts the main page for this site and some linked pages, exploded.  The power box to the computer shorted out, and in turn fried the whole system.  Motherboard, Hard drives, CPU Etc..  Luckily we had backups of the backups that we stored on that PC, so the page is pretty much back up and running.  Some links may not work as previously as we reverted to an older version.  Unfortunately we probably won't be able to replace the server for awhile, so everything is being run off the gnomercy.com server.  This doesn't really change anything, except possibly a bit slower load times during peak traffic hours.

    Druid Info Up

    04/20/04 Posted by: Codex

GFraizer posted on the WoW Blizzard boards that the Druid information page on World of WarCraft.com is now up.

Druids are the keepers of the world. Locked in slumber for generations, they awoke to meet the threat of the Burning Legion during its recent invasion. After Archimonde's defeat, the Druids chose to remain in the waking world and help to rebuild their shattered lands. The Legion's attack left a terrible scar on the natural order, and the Druids seek to heal it.

As with the previous classes, Blizzard has posted general information about Druids as well as a list of some of the more useful spells that are available to them. Some new bits of informationon Druids was posted, including the ability to activate a fast travel mode. The fast travel mode will turn the Druid into a "cool looking cheetah " and increase run speed. Druids also have a form of "Play Dead" (A.K.A. Feign Death to those familar with EQ) .

    Phase 2 is GO!

    04/16/04 Posted by: Codex

At last the much anticipated Phase 2 has begun. Those fortunate to be selected back in March should be recieving your account creation emails soon. As done with Phase 1, the emails will be sent out in waves, so be sure to check every so often. According to Katricia it may take even up to a couple weeks before the account creation email arrives.

Along with the new phase came the next "push". The Horde is once again playable, Druids are in and a whole slew of new changes:

  • Rest States
  • Overhauled Combat System
  • Monster Claiming
  • Cloaks are now visible
  • Mages gain ability to cast sleep
  • The entire patch notes can be found at the official site.

On another note the main site has been updated with Dungeon Basics and a list of the regions currently available for play along with their level range.
